What prints
Wisconsin's outline has one straight edge, the Illinois line along the south, and three natural ones: Lake Michigan and the Door Peninsula on the east, Lake Superior along the north, and the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers on the west with Iowa and Minnesota. The border with Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the northeast follows the Menominee and Brule rivers. All of it prints on a single sheet with the 72 county borders inside. Wisconsin's counties are mostly rectangular and moderate in size, so they read clearly at Letter scale; the smallest, around Milwaukee and along the Fox River near Green Bay, are still distinguishable. Madison is marked with the capital star between Lakes Mendota and Monona. The Major cities layer adds Milwaukee, Green Bay and Kenosha.
Page orientation
Choose portrait. The state runs about 310 miles from the Illinois line to the Superior shore and about 260 miles across at its widest, and portrait keeps the Door Peninsula and the far northwest corner both on the page without shrinking the counties. Landscape would work but leaves margins on both sides and cuts the printed scale by roughly a fifth.

Neither of the Great Lakes prints as a filled area on the plain sheet; their shores appear as the state outline. The Wisconsin River, which crosses the state from north to south before joining the Mississippi at Prairie du Chien, shows only on the Streets layer. County names are left blank; check them on the Wisconsin county map, or hand out the blank Wisconsin map for a full outline exercise.
