A printable Oregon map with Salem, Portland and the largest cities, the 36 county borders, and notes on the Malheur County corner that keeps Mountain time.
What prints
The printed Oregon outline has the Columbia River along most of the northern border, the Snake River along the northern half of the eastern border, the Pacific coast on the west, and straight surveyed lines on the south (42°N) and the lower part of the Idaho border. The 36 counties are drawn as thin lines and vary enormously in size: Harney and Malheur counties in the southeast are each larger than several eastern states, while Multnomah County around Portland is a small wedge on the Columbia. Salem is starred as capital in the Willamette Valley, and the Major cities layer adds Portland, Eugene, Gresham and Hillsboro.
Page orientation
Landscape suits Oregon. The state is about 400 miles from the coast to the Idaho line and about 295 miles from the Columbia to the California border, and the Willamette Valley cities are packed into a narrow strip on the left side of the map. Printing in portrait squeezes that strip until Portland, Gresham and Hillsboro overlap; landscape gives them room.
Two time zones
Almost all of Oregon is on Pacific time. The exception is most of Malheur County in the far southeast, around Ontario and Vale, which keeps Mountain time to match Boise across the Snake River. The zone line is not drawn on the print; it follows county and township lines within Malheur County, so students can approximate it by shading that county.

The Cascade crest, Crater Lake and the Willamette River do not print on the plain sheet. Suggested tasks: mark the Cascades to divide the wet west from the dry east, label Multnomah, Lane and Marion counties, and trace the coast from Astoria to Brookings. The county map has the answers, and the blank Oregon map gives an empty outline.
